MRI

MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging) is a test that is used to take detailed images of inside body. It uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to take images of inside body to detect tumors and other diseases. It helps to examine various body parts like brain, heart, abdominal, joints, bones and other infected areas. It is a painless process and gives clear pictures without using X-Rays and radiation. It is preferable than other scans like CT scan and X-Ray as it helps to detect very mild differences in soft tissues.

CT Scan

CT scan (computerised tomography) is a procedure that produce cross sectional images of the inside body which helps to detect various diseases, abnormalities and injuries. It uses X-Rays to take images. It is a fast, painless procedure, gives accurate and detailed image than X-Rays. It is useful in taking images of soft tissues, lungs, brain and other parts of the body.

Mammography

Mammography is a type of X-Ray, it is a screening tool used to detect signs of breast cancer in women. It uses low dose X-Rays to take images. It helps to find abnormalities in the breast like lumps, tumors and other breast diseases. Digital mammography, computer-aided detection and breast tomosynthesis are the recent advances in mammography. Breast cancer is one of the major risks for women, mammography helps in early detection and treatment of breast cancer. It detects small cancer or tumors before they show symptoms and felt by people.

Digital X-Ray

Digital X-Ray is the recent advance development of conventional X-Ray, it gives high resolution X-Ray images. It reduces people exposure to radiation as it uses low radiation compared to conventional X-Ray. It helps dentists in many ways to find cavities, health of bony area around teeth, to look at the development of teeth and roots. It gives high quality image in less time and useful to the person as it avoids repetition and exposure to radiation.

Ultra sound

Ultra sound is a safe and painless imaging procedure, it uses high frequency sound waves instead of X-Rays and radiation to take live images of inside of the body. Ultra sound is faster than other radiographic techniques. It is very useful for gynaecologists and conceived ladies to find the due date, to see the growth and development of fetus. It is also helpful to find defects in kidney, liver, thyroid, pancreas, heart, bladder, uterus and other organs of the body.

ECG

Electrocardiography (ECG) is a test used to detect abnormalities in heart. It records electrical activity of the heart on a paper to detect heart problems. During this process electrodes are placed on the skin which measures heart’s electrical activity. Resting ECG, Exercise ECG and 24 hour ECG are the three types of ECG. It is a safe, fast and painless procedure, it provides information about heart beat, size of heart chambers, heart inflammation, damage to the heart and unusual activity of heart.

TMT

TMT (Treadmill test) is also called as exercise test or stress test or cardiac stress test. This test helps to check the performance of heart like how arteries work during stress and helps to predict future heart problems. Person is made to walk on a treadmill and his heart rate and BP are recorded to see the effect of exercise on heart function. It uses ECG to record heart beat on a sheet of paper.

OPG

Orthopantogram (OPG) is a panorex X-Ray that gives information about teeth, bones of both upper and lower jaw, developing teeth, position and growth of teeth and temporomandibular joints. It is also called as orthopantomogram or panorex. It is very beneficial for dentists as it provides overall view of mouth, it takes only 1 to 2 minutes to complete the process.

CR System

CR (Computed radiography) system is an imaging procedure, it gives high quality image in short period of time and avoids repetition. People positioning and imaging techniques in CR system are same as conventional X-Ray. In CR system special CR cassette is used instead of conventional film cassette.

Histopathology

Histopathology is a test or examination of biopsy or surgical specimen. Biopsy is a tissue removed from person for further tests. Pathologist conduct microscopic examination of the tissue to find weather the tissue collected is normal or has any dangerous cancer cells or tumors. A report is made from the observations by the pathologist. Histopathology report or pathology report helps doctors in treating the person.

Clinical Biochemistry

Clinical biochemistry is the analysis of body fluids like serum, urine, ascetic fluids and CSF. Clinical biochemistry is also called as clinical chemistry. This helps to diagnose and manage diseases.

PFT

PFT (Pulmonary function test) is a test conducted to find how lungs are working. This test measures how our lungs exhale and inhale. In these test person breaths into mouth piece connected to spirometer. It records amount of air breathed in and out. Gathered information is useful in diagnosing various lung disorders.

Microbiology

Microbiology is a study and testing of microorganisms like bacteria, fungi, parasites, enzymes and viruses. Microbiology test is grouped into antigen detection, molecular detection, rapid biochemical tests, direct microscopy and serology. Our body requires some microorganisms like good bacteria which helps us to digest food.
